7/15/23- Today’s class was free work time!! We have everyone blank canvases and let them paint whatever they wanted. Activities like these are great for developing creativity and encouraging kids to make painting a more personalized activity. When students are given agency to paint what they want, at first it can be a bit terrifying, but eventually, as they start making their own decisions about their work, they develop the confidence to continue creating on their own and to express themselves more authentically. The girls at ICNA Relief today did just that and ended the day with beautiful, creative paintings.
