Breaking the Code with Gabriella: A Picture That Empowers Young Girls to Pursue STEM

Hafsah is also passionate about STEM and is a part of her school’s robotics team. She’s consistently noticed that the prominent gender gap in STEM fields manifests even in her robotics team, where she’s one of the only girls. Along with some other girls in her team, Hafsah co-wrote and illustrated this picture book which aims to break gender stereotypes at a young age and bring more diversity to STEM.

It’s currently being integrated into the Barrington elementary STEM curriculum as Hafsah and her co-authors do read-alouds and interactive presentations for the students.
